Blue is SO your color!

Spark the Night is a global awareness campaign marking World Parkinson’s Day. On April 11, 2026, more than 1,000 buildings, bridges, and landmarks around the world will light up blue in solidarity with people living with Parkinson’s and the people who care for them.

Blue is a powerful symbol for Spark the Night. Around the world, blue is associated with harmony, trust, and unity, so lighting prominent structures in blue signals a global coming together to support people affected by Parkinson’s. It represents hope and optimism for better treatments, increased understanding, and ultimately an end to Parkinson’s disease. For individuals living with Parkinson’s, their families, and care partners, seeing familiar landmarks lit blue can feel like a beacon of support: a visible reminder that their experience matters and that they are not alone.

Blue light also creates striking, memorable visibility. When iconic buildings and landmarks are bathed in blue, they naturally draw attention, spark conversations, and invite questions about Parkinson’s and the challenges people face every day. That visibility helps educate the public, reduce stigma, and recognize the strength and resilience of the Parkinson’s community—as well as the dedication of researchers, healthcare professionals, and advocates working to improve quality of life and drive progress.
